Oatbox has never provided web hosting, only served as a gateway to the services of Byethost, with a view to providing an adequate way for patient people to get websites online for free, and earning a pittance in paid hosting referral fees. We have never had more than superficial control of the service that we appear to have offered.
The Byethost product has got worse and worse, with poor-quality advertising, horrible interfaces and slow communication. It used to be arguable that it was literally better than nothing – good enough for a free service. Now, we’re no longer sure that it’s worth anyone’s time.
Existing free hosting customers can sign in to their VistaPanel, and we’re contractually obliged to link to Byethost premium hosting. You’re probably better off with NearlyFreeSpeech.NET.
